We write this weeks team review with many mixed emotions. We are both relieved and thoroughly delighted to see the back of the international games for what feels like it will only be 5 minutes.

On an individual basis we look back at some pretty woeful team performances (both in the real world and in this wonderful game of FPL).

The last emotion we would describe is excitement. We are very much looking forward to the rest of the FPL season because it cannot go much worse than the start so the only way has to be up...... right?

Anyway, we got a mighty 58 points in the last gameweek which saw us climb up to a lofty 2.5m in the overall rankings. Looking back we are glad we didn't kneejerk into a wildcard a couple of gameweeks back as players like McCarthy have started to deliver on the expectations we all had prior to gameweek 1. Likewise the same can be said of Saint Maximum who got us a very welcome 12 points to help top up the tank nicely.

All in all some good contributions from most areas of the team- we are not counting the forwards because that will ruin our good mood.

The news that KDB is out has made our move very simple this week... in comes the mighty Son from free scoring Spurs. We loved the idea of rolling back the clock and taking a punt on Bale but in the end we went with the safer and slightly cheaper option.

Son is likely to get the armband this week but we will update the twitter feed if that should change between now and the deadline.

Best of luck to us all this week but especially our own individual teams as we desperately need the points!
