This is a question that I have been pondering over the last little while. It is a question for many in the Fantasy Premier League Community, will be going over, in the lead up to kick off GW1. We will all be hoping that we begin the season with a winning formula, 65 - 75+ points would do and we can all have a good weekend.
Like the question goes though, just where will the points come from in GW1?
FULHAM VS ARSENAL:
One good thing happening with Arsenal at the minute, is Mikael Arteta is bedding in his philosophy, by having a preseason and hopefully full season with Arsenal. This should translate onto the pitch and in so doing, into the FPL also. Arsenal have made some exciting transfers over the Summer bringing in William Saliba from his loan spell at St Etienne.
Willian being brought in from Chelsea, could be good for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with both players expected to link up together for this season and possibly next. Willian will be providing the assists, being that Alexandre Lacazette is linked with a move away. Other players, who could be names on our FPL team sheets from Arsenal are Kieran Tierney in the backline, Bukayo Saka at 5.5 is a potential cheap pick to make his mark in the Premier League this season.
LIVERPOOL VS LEEDS:
Leeds are back in the Premier League, everyone rejoice. We all know the players that we will have in our FPL teams from Liverpool, such as: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane etc. This section will concentrate on Leeds United seeing as they are back in the big time.
Starting in the backline, three defenders to pick from are as follows: Barry Douglas, Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas. Now, everyone is expecting the points to come from Stuart Dallas, who has the ability to play further forward, in the midfield. You can expect clean sheets from all three, but if you are looking for alternatives, Luke Ayling and Barry Douglas are two set and forget alternatives to the Northern Irishman.
In the midfield, we look to the wings. Helder Costa and Jack Harrison are two names that jump out at us off the page. Both players were on loan with Leeds last season, Marcelo Bielsa has splashed the cash on buying Costa from Wolves and managed to bring Jack Harrison back on-loan from Manchester City for another season. Two wingers with lots of pace, one of them could be in your FPL side, priced at a nice 5.5 tag.
BRIGHTON VS. CHELSEA:
The cash is back at Chelsea and Frank Lampard has been making a big splash in the transfer market. I can see, Chelsea this season are an ambitious club, who want to if they can, win some silverware, namely the Premier League or at least shorten the gap between themselves and Liverpool / Manchester City. If you were to ask me, I think they now have the squad to be able to do just that.
The likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz are all expected to make Chelsea a force again, there is going to be a lot of rotation and he will have to keep a lot of people happy. It should be like Pep at Manchester City, rotation will be involved throughout the course of the season. So, I would watch for team leaks and press conferences for Chelsea throughout the season.
It all starts away at Brighton first game of the season, it would be possible that if it all comes together, then Chelsea should easily win this game, to start their season.
